Beautiful handwoven Herdwick scatter and seat cushions. Using our own Herdwick weaving yarn specially spun for us in Cornwall and hand dyed at Fornside.
Various sizes and designs are available. All handwoven using unique combinations of 8 shaft twills, providing dramatic patterns.
I call this the Lakeland Glory range in deference to the fantastic pageant of colour we experience around our local area across the seasons.
Cushion pads are either duck feather or high quality microfibre. Zip fasteners allow handwashing.

These colourful pouches have hand dyed Herdwick twills on the outside and soft protective Gotland on the inside. Woven using a stitched double cloth technique the two layers are invisibly melded together and provide a beautiful but safe protector. 2 magnetic studs close the pouch.
Approx/ internal size is 8″ x 5.5″ so will fit any kindle (except DX) and also iPad mini or any 7″ tablet.

I handweave 100% Herdwick floor rugs using thick Herdwick rug yarn in natural grey and also hand dyed. Strong and hardwearing just like the sheep.
Not many in stock but commissions taken. Maximum size I can weave is about 85cm wide and 2m long.
The green and russet rug shown here is 84 x 147cm.
This green/russet/blue one is smaller – 49 x 70cm.

A range of table runners woven with 100% Herdwick in natural colours and hand dyed in vibrant autumn colours. Woven in double cloth they are strong and hardwearing.
This range I call Autumn on the Bridge as it was inspired by one of Ian Lawson’s photographs of Herdwicks standing on the stone packhorse bridge in Rosthwaite, Borrowdale.
Available in 2 sizes and either squares or blocks.
Can be hand washed – steam iron on wool setting and dry flat.

Pam Hall is a hand weaver, working mainly in wool from her own sheep. Her inspiration comes from the ever changing magnificent landscape of her local area, the Northern Fells of the English Lake District.
Fornside is a working sheep farm. Most of our sheep are Herdwicks, the iconic Lakeland breed. They are the hardiest of sheep well suited for harsh winters on the fells. The wool is relatively coarse but full of character and very hardwearing.
